In this meeting that was held in the office of Shiraz Friday Prayer Leader, The custodian of Holy Shrine, Basij commander of the country, the Fars Province general manager of Iranian Broadcasting organization and the authorities of the Mokeb were present.
It is noted that as in past years, the Mokeb of Ahmed-ibn Musa serves up the pilgrims of Imam Husayn Holy Shrine in the Karbala Holy city. All of the costs are provided through popular gifts and religious vows.
*Mokeb is a place or a tent that serves up free of charge to the pilgrims of Arba’een**, who walk toward a religious place such as Holy Shrines in memory of Imam Husain and his companions.
** Arba'een is a Shia Muslim religious observance that occurs forty days after the Day of Ashura. It commemorates the martyrdom of Husain ibn Ali, the grandson of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, who was killed on the 10th day of the month of Muharram. Imam Husain ibn Ali and 72 of his companions were killed by Yazid I's army in the Battle of Karbala in 61 AH (680 CE).
